We started it because almost every day of the year has a story behind it, and we wanted one place where you could find out what’s being celebrated, where it came from and how to join in.
Every observance page is researched and written by our editorial team. We check dates against official proclamations, international organisations and the groups that created each day, and we tell you when an origin story can’t be confirmed.
